2 Samuel 10

וַֽיְהִי֙ אַֽחֲרֵי כֵ֔ן וַיָּ֕מָת מֶ֖לֶךְ בְּנֵ֣י עַמּ֑וֹן וַיִּמְלֹ֛ךְ חָנ֥וּן בְּנ֖וֹ תַּחְתָּֽיו

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר דָּוִ֜ד אֶעֱשֶׂה חֶ֣סֶד עִם חָנ֣וּן בֶּן נָחָ֗שׁ כַּאֲשֶׁר֩ עָשָׂ֨ה אָבִ֤יו עִמָּדִי֙ חֶ֔סֶד וַיִּשְׁלַ֨ח דָּוִ֧ד לְנַחֲמ֛וֹ בְּיַד עֲבָדָ֖יו אֶל אָבִ֑יו וַיָּבֹ֨אוּ֙ עַבְדֵ֣י דָוִ֔ד אֶ֖רֶץ בְּנֵ֥י עַמּֽוֹן

and to say · David · to do · kindness · with · Hanun · son of · Nahash · like/as which · to do · father his · with me · kindness · and to send · David · to comfort him · in/at hand of · servants his · to · father his · and to enter · servants of · David · land of · sons of · Ammon

וַיֹּאמְרוּ֩ שָׂרֵ֨י בְנֵֽי עַמּ֜וֹן אֶל חָנ֣וּן אֲדֹֽנֵיהֶ֗ם הַֽמְכַבֵּ֨ד דָּוִ֤ד אֶת אָבִ֨יךָ֙ בְּעֵינֶ֔יךָ כִּֽי שָׁלַ֥ח לְךָ֖ מְנַֽחֲמִ֑ים הֲ֠לוֹא בַּעֲב֞וּר חֲק֤וֹר אֶת הָעִיר֙ וּלְרַגְּלָ֣הּ וּלְהָפְכָ֔הּ שָׁלַ֥ח דָּוִ֛ד אֶת עֲבָדָ֖יו אֵלֶֽיךָ

and to say · princes of · sons of · Ammon · to · Hanun · lords their · being heavy · David · - · father your · in/at eyes your · that · to send · to/for you · comforting · not · in/at because of of · to search · - · the city · and to walk her · and to overturn her · to send · David · - · servants his · to you

וַיִּקַּ֨ח חָנ֜וּן אֶת עַבְדֵ֣י דָוִ֗ד וַיְגַלַּח֙ אֶת חֲצִ֣י זְקָנָ֔ם וַיִּכְרֹ֧ת אֶת מַדְוֵיהֶ֛ם בַּחֵ֖צִי עַ֣ד שְׁתֽוֹתֵיהֶ֑ם וַֽיְשַׁלְּחֵֽם

and to take · Hanun · - · servants of · David · and to shave · - · half of · beard their · and to cut · - · garments their · in/at the half · until · buttocks their · and to send them

וַיַּגִּ֤דוּ לְדָוִד֙ וַיִּשְׁלַ֣ח לִקְרָאתָ֔ם כִּֽי הָי֥וּ הָאֲנָשִׁ֖ים נִכְלָמִ֣ים מְאֹ֑ד וַיֹּ֤אמֶר הַמֶּ֨לֶךְ֙ שְׁב֣וּ בִֽירֵח֔וֹ עַד יְצַמַּ֥ח זְקַנְכֶ֖ם וְשַׁבְתֶּֽם

and to make known · to/for David · and to send · to meet them · that · to be · the men · shaming · exceedingly · and to say · the king · dwell · in/at Jericho · until · to sprout · beard your · and to return

וַיִּרְאוּ֙ בְּנֵ֣י עַמּ֔וֹן כִּ֥י נִבְאֲשׁ֖וּ בְּדָוִ֑ד וַיִּשְׁלְח֣וּ בְנֵֽי עַמּ֡וֹן וַיִּשְׂכְּרוּ֩ אֶת אֲרַ֨ם בֵּית רְח֜וֹב וְאֶת אֲרַ֣ם צוֹבָ֗א עֶשְׂרִ֥ים אֶ֨לֶף֙ רַגְלִ֔י וְאֶת מֶ֤לֶךְ מַֽעֲכָה֙ אֶ֣לֶף אִ֔ישׁ וְאִ֣ישׁ ט֔וֹב שְׁנֵים עָשָׂ֥ר אֶ֖לֶף אִֽישׁ

and to see · sons of · Ammon · that · to stink · in/at David · and to send · sons of · Ammon · and to hire · - · Aram · Beth-rehob · Beth-rehob · and - · Aram · Zoba · twenty · thousand · foot soldier · and - · king of · Maachathites · thousand · man · and man of · Tob · two · teen · thousand · man

וַיִּשְׁמַ֖ע דָּוִ֑ד וַיִּשְׁלַח֙ אֶת יוֹאָ֔ב וְאֵ֥ת כָּל הַצָּבָ֖א הַגִּבֹּרִֽים

and to hear · David · and to send · - · Joab · and - · all of · the army · the mighty

וַיֵּֽצְאוּ֙ בְּנֵ֣י עַמּ֔וֹן וַיַּעַרְכ֥וּ מִלְחָמָ֖ה פֶּ֣תַח הַשָּׁ֑עַר וַאֲרַ֨ם צוֹבָ֤א וּרְחוֹב֙ וְאִֽישׁ ט֣וֹב וּמַֽעֲכָ֔ה לְבַדָּ֖ם בַּשָּׂדֶֽה

and to go out · sons of · Ammon · and to arrange · battle · doorway of · the gate · and Aram · Zoba · and Rehob · and man of · Tob · and Maachathites · to/for apart their · in/at the field

וַיַּ֣רְא יוֹאָ֗ב כִּֽי הָיְתָ֤ה אֵלָיו֙ פְּנֵ֣י הַמִּלְחָמָ֔ה מִפָּנִ֖ים וּמֵֽאָח֑וֹר וַיִּבְחַ֗ר מִכֹּל֙ בְּחוּרֵ֣י בישראל יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וַֽיַּעֲרֹ֖ךְ לִקְרַ֥את אֲרָֽם

and to see · Joab · that · to be · to him · face(s) of · the battle · from face(s) · and from behind · and to choose · from all of · chosen · in/at Israel · Israel · and to arrange · to meet · Aram

וְאֵת֙ יֶ֣תֶר הָעָ֔ם נָתַ֕ן בְּיַ֖ד אַבְשַׁ֣י אָחִ֑יו וַֽיַּעֲרֹ֕ךְ לִקְרַ֖את בְּנֵ֥י עַמּֽוֹן

וַיֹּ֗אמֶר אִם תֶּחֱזַ֤ק אֲרָם֙ מִמֶּ֔נִּי וְהָיִ֥תָה לִּ֖י לִֽישׁוּעָ֑ה וְאִם בְּנֵ֤י עַמּוֹן֙ יֶחֱזְק֣וּ מִמְּךָ֔ וְהָלַכְתִּ֖י לְהוֹשִׁ֥יעַֽ לָֽךְ

חֲזַ֤ק וְנִתְחַזַּק֙ בְּעַד עַמֵּ֔נוּ וּבְעַ֖ד עָרֵ֣י אֱלֹהֵ֑ינוּ וַֽיהוָ֔ה יַעֲשֶׂ֥ה הַטּ֖וֹב בְּעֵינָֽיו

strengthen · and to strengthen · behind · people our · and behind · cities of · God(s) our · and LORD · to do · the good · in/at eyes his

וַיִּגַּ֣שׁ יוֹאָ֗ב וְהָעָם֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר עִמּ֔וֹ לַמִּלְחָמָ֖ה בַּֽאֲרָ֑ם וַיָּנֻ֖סוּ מִפָּנָֽיו

and to approach · Joab · and the people · which · with him · to/for the battle · in/at Aram · and to flee · from face(s) his

וּבְנֵ֨י עַמּ֤וֹן רָאוּ֙ כִּי נָ֣ס אֲרָ֔ם וַיָּנֻ֨סוּ֙ מִפְּנֵ֣י אֲבִישַׁ֔י וַיָּבֹ֖אוּ הָעִ֑יר וַיָּ֣שָׁב יוֹאָ֗ב מֵעַל֙ בְּנֵ֣י עַמּ֔וֹן וַיָּבֹ֖א יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם

and sons of · Ammon · to see · that · to flee · Aram · and to flee · from face(s) of · Abishai · and to enter · the city · and to return · Joab · from upon · sons of · Ammon · and to enter · Jerusalem

וַיַּ֣רְא אֲרָ֔ם כִּ֥י נִגַּ֖ף לִפְנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַיֵּאָסְפ֖וּ יָֽחַד

and to see · Aram · that · to strike · to/for face(s) of · Israel · and to gather · together

וַיִּשְׁלַ֣ח הֲדַדְעֶ֗זֶר וַיֹּצֵ֤א אֶת אֲרָם֙ אֲשֶׁר֙ מֵעֵ֣בֶר הַנָּהָ֔ר וַיָּבֹ֖אוּ חֵילָ֑ם וְשׁוֹבַ֛ךְ שַׂר צְבָ֥א הֲדַדְעֶ֖זֶר לִפְנֵיהֶֽם

and to send · Hadadezer · and to go out · - · Aram · which · from side of · the stream · and to enter · Helam · and Shobach · prince of · army of · Hadadezer · to/for face(s) their

וַיֻּגַּ֣ד לְדָוִ֗ד וַיֶּאֱסֹ֤ף אֶת כָּל יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ וַיַּעֲבֹ֣ר אֶת הַיַּרְדֵּ֔ן וַיָּבֹ֖א חֵלָ֑אמָה וַיַּעַרְכ֤וּ אֲרָם֙ לִקְרַ֣את דָּוִ֔ד וַיִּלָּחֲמ֖וּ עִמּֽוֹ

and to make known · to/for David · and to gather · - · all of · Israel · and to pass over · - · the Jordan · and to enter · Helam toward · and to arrange · Aram · to meet · David · and to fight · with him

וַיָּ֣נָס אֲרָם֮ מִפְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵל֒ וַיַּהֲרֹ֨ג דָּוִ֜ד מֵאֲרָ֗ם שְׁבַ֤ע מֵאוֹת֙ רֶ֔כֶב וְאַרְבָּעִ֥ים אֶ֖לֶף פָּרָשִׁ֑ים וְאֵ֨ת שׁוֹבַ֧ךְ שַׂר צְבָא֛וֹ הִכָּ֖ה וַיָּ֥מָת שָֽׁם

and to flee · Aram · from face(s) of · Israel · and to kill · David · from Aram · seven · hundred · chariot · and forty · thousand · horses · and - · Shobach · prince of · army his · to strike · and to die · there

וַיִּרְא֨וּ כָֽל הַמְּלָכִ֜ים עַבְדֵ֣י הֲדַדְעֶ֗זֶר כִּ֤י נִגְּפוּ֙ לִפְנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וַיַּשְׁלִ֥מוּ אֶת יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל וַיַּֽעַבְד֑וּם וַיִּֽרְא֣וּ אֲרָ֔ם לְהוֹשִׁ֥יעַ ע֖וֹד אֶת בְּנֵ֥י עַמּֽוֹן

and to see · all of · the kings · servants of · Hadadezer · that · to strike · to/for face(s) of · Israel · and to be at peace · with · Israel · and to serve them · and to fear · Aram · to save · still · - · sons of · Ammon
