This is the privacy policy for Lemma, the interlinear Bible study tool. It explains what information the site does and does not collect, the cookies and local storage it uses, and the third parties involved when you use the free or the supporter (ad-free) experience. Last updated: 16 August 2026.
The tool needs no account and asks for no personal information to look up scripture. Bible references you enter are sent to the server only to return the interlinear data and are not tied to your identity. Like most web servers, ours may keep standard, short-lived request logs (IP address, timestamp, user agent) for security and reliability; these are not used to profile you.
The free version shows ads served by Google AdSense. We request non-personalized ads, which are based on the page content and general (e.g. coarse location) signals rather than a profile of your past behavior. Where the law requires consent first — the EEA, the UK and Switzerland — Google's certified consent message appears before any ad is served, and your answer is honored there. Google detects the region; we do not, and we never see the answer. Elsewhere, no message is shown and the non-personalized ads described above load on the pages that carry them. Becoming an ad-free supporter is optional. If you choose it, you authenticate through Patreon; we ask Patreon only whether you are an active patron at the supporter tier, and store that result in the session cookie above. We never see your Patreon password. See Patreon's privacy policy.
