וַיִּשְׁכַּ֨ב אֲבִיָּ֜ה עִם אֲבֹתָ֗יו וַיִּקְבְּר֤וּ אֹתוֹ֙ בְּעִ֣יר דָּוִ֔יד וַיִּמְלֹ֛ךְ אָסָ֥א בְנ֖וֹ תַּחְתָּ֑יו בְּיָמָ֛יו שָׁקְטָ֥ה הָאָ֖רֶץ עֶ֥שֶׂר שָׁנִֽים

and to lie down · Abijah · with · fathers his · and to bury · - him · in/at city of · David · and to reign · Asa · son his · under him · in/at days his · to be quiet · the land · ten · years

וַיַּ֤עַשׂ אָסָא֙ הַטּ֣וֹב וְהַיָּשָׁ֔ר בְּעֵינֵ֖י יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהָֽיו

and to do · Asa · the good · and the upright · in/at eyes of · LORD · God(s) his

וַיָּ֛סַר אֶת מִזְבְּח֥וֹת הַנֵּכָ֖ר וְהַבָּמ֑וֹת וַיְשַׁבֵּר֙ אֶת הַמַּצֵּב֔וֹת וַיְגַדַּ֖ע אֶת הָאֲשֵׁרִֽים

and to turn aside · - · altars of · the foreign · and the high places · and to break · - · the pillars · and to hew · - · the Asherah

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר֙ לִֽיהוּדָ֔ה לִדְר֕וֹשׁ אֶת יְהוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵ֣י אֲבוֹתֵיהֶ֑ם וְלַעֲשׂ֖וֹת הַתּוֹרָ֥ה וְהַמִּצְוָֽה

and to say · to/for Judah · to seek · - · LORD · God(s) of · fathers their · and to do · the law · and the commandment

וַיָּ֨סַר֙ מִכָּל עָרֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֔ה אֶת הַבָּמ֖וֹת וְאֶת הַֽחַמָּנִ֑ים וַתִּשְׁקֹ֥ט הַמַּמְלָכָ֖ה לְפָנָֽיו

and to turn aside · from all of · cities of · Judah · - · the high places · and - · the incense altars · and to be quiet · the kingdom · to/for face(s) his

וַיִּ֛בֶן עָרֵ֥י מְצוּרָ֖ה בִּיהוּדָ֑ה כִּֽי שָׁקְטָ֣ה הָאָ֗רֶץ וְאֵין עִמּ֤וֹ מִלְחָמָה֙ בַּשָּׁנִ֣ים הָאֵ֔לֶּה כִּֽי הֵנִ֥יחַ יְהוָ֖ה לֽוֹ

and to build · cities of · rampart · in/at Judah · that · to be quiet · the land · and nothing · with him · battle · in/at the years · the these · that · to rest · LORD · to/for him

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר לִֽיהוּדָ֜ה נִבְנֶ֣ה אֶת הֶעָרִ֣ים הָאֵ֗לֶּה וְנָסֵ֨ב חוֹמָ֣ה וּמִגְדָּלִים֮ דְּלָתַ֣יִם וּבְרִיחִים֒ עוֹדֶ֨נּוּ הָאָ֜רֶץ לְפָנֵ֗ינוּ כִּ֤י דָרַ֨שְׁנוּ֙ אֶת יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵ֔ינוּ דָּרַ֕שְׁנוּ וַיָּ֥נַֽח לָ֖נוּ מִסָּבִ֑יב וַיִּבְנ֖וּ וַיַּצְלִֽיחוּ

and to say · to/for Judah · to build · - · the cities · the these · and to turn around · wall · and towers · doors · and bars · still his · the land · to/for face(s) our · that · to seek · - · LORD · God(s) our · to seek · and to rest · to/for us · from round about · and to build · and to prosper

וַיְהִ֣י לְאָסָ֗א חַיִל֮ נֹשֵׂ֣א צִנָּ֣ה וָרֹמַח֒ מִֽיהוּדָה֙ שְׁלֹ֣שׁ מֵא֣וֹת אֶ֔לֶף וּמִבִּנְיָמִ֗ן נֹשְׂאֵ֤י מָגֵן֙ וְדֹ֣רְכֵי קֶ֔שֶׁת מָאתַ֥יִם וּשְׁמוֹנִ֖ים אָ֑לֶף כָּל אֵ֖לֶּה גִּבּ֥וֹרֵי חָֽיִל

and to be · to/for Asa · strength · lifting · shield · and spear · from Judah · three · hundred · thousand · and from Benjamin · lifting · shield · and treading · bow · hundred · and eighty · thousand · all of · these · mighty of · strength

וַיֵּצֵ֨א אֲלֵיהֶ֜ם זֶ֣רַח הַכּוּשִׁ֗י בְּחַ֨יִל֙ אֶ֣לֶף אֲלָפִ֔ים וּמַרְכָּב֖וֹת שְׁלֹ֣שׁ מֵא֑וֹת וַיָּבֹ֖א עַד מָרֵשָֽׁה

and to go out · to them · Zerah · the Cushite · in/at strength · thousand · thousand · and chariots · three · hundred · and to enter · until · Mareshah

וַיֵּצֵ֥א אָסָ֖א לְפָנָ֑יו וַיַּֽעַרְכוּ֙ מִלְחָמָ֔ה בְּגֵ֥יא צְפַ֖תָה לְמָרֵשָֽׁה

and to go out · Asa · to/for face(s) his · and to arrange · battle · in/at valley of · Zephathah · to/for Mareshah

וַיִּקְרָ֨א אָסָ֜א אֶל יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהָיו֮ וַיֹּאמַר֒ יְהוָ֗ה אֵֽין עִמְּךָ֤ לַעְזוֹר֙ בֵּ֥ין רַב֙ לְאֵ֣ין כֹּ֔חַ עָזְרֵ֜נוּ יְהוָ֤ה אֱלֹהֵ֨ינוּ֙ כִּֽי עָלֶ֣יךָ נִשְׁעַ֔נּוּ וּבְשִׁמְךָ֣ בָ֔אנוּ עַל הֶהָמ֖וֹן הַזֶּ֑ה יְהוָ֤ה אֱלֹהֵ֨ינוּ֙ אַ֔תָּה אַל יַעְצֹ֥ר עִמְּךָ֖ אֱנֽוֹשׁ

and to call · Asa · to · LORD · God(s) his · and to say · LORD · nothing · with you · to help · between · many · to/for nothing · strength · help us · LORD · God(s) our · that · upon you · to lean on · and in/at name your · to enter · upon · the tumult · the this · LORD · God(s) our · you · not · to restrain · with you · man

וַיִּגֹּ֤ף יְהוָה֙ אֶת הַכּוּשִׁ֔ים לִפְנֵ֥י אָסָ֖א וְלִפְנֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֑ה וַיָּנֻ֖סוּ הַכּוּשִֽׁים

and to strike · LORD · - · the Cushites · to/for face(s) of · Asa · and to/for face(s) of · Judah · and to flee · the Cushites

וַיִּרְדְּפֵ֨ם אָסָ֜א וְהָעָ֣ם אֲשֶׁר עִמּוֹ֮ עַד לִגְרָר֒ וַיִּפֹּ֤ל מִכּוּשִׁים֙ לְאֵ֣ין לָהֶ֣ם מִֽחְיָ֔ה כִּֽי נִשְׁבְּר֥וּ לִפְנֵֽי יְהוָ֖ה וְלִפְנֵ֣י מַחֲנֵ֑הוּ וַיִּשְׂא֥וּ שָׁלָ֖ל הַרְבֵּ֥ה מְאֹֽד

and to pursue them · Asa · and the people · which · with him · until · to/for Gerar · and to fall · from Cushites · to/for nothing · to/for them · sustenance · that · to break · to/for face(s) of · LORD · and to/for face(s) of · camp his · and to lift · plunder · to multiply · exceedingly

וַיַּכּ֗וּ אֵ֤ת כָּל הֶֽעָרִים֙ סְבִיב֣וֹת גְּרָ֔ר כִּי הָיָ֥ה פַֽחַד יְהוָ֖ה עֲלֵיהֶ֑ם וַיָּבֹ֨זּוּ֙ אֶת כָּל הֶ֣עָרִ֔ים כִּֽי בִזָּ֥ה רַבָּ֖ה הָיְתָ֥ה בָהֶֽם

and to strike · - · all of · the cities · surroundings · Gerar · that · to be · terror of · LORD · upon them · and to plunder · - · all of · the cities · that · booty · many · to be · in/at them

וְגַם אָהֳלֵ֥י מִקְנֶ֖ה הִכּ֑וּ וַיִּשְׁבּ֨וּ צֹ֤אן לָרֹב֙ וּגְמַלִּ֔ים וַיָּשֻׁ֖בוּ יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם

and also · tents of · cattle · to strike · and to capture · flock · to/for multitude · and camels · and to return · Jerusalem
