וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהוָ֜ה אֶל שְׁמוּאֵ֗ל עַד מָתַי֙ אַתָּה֙ מִתְאַבֵּ֣ל אֶל שָׁא֔וּל וַאֲנִ֣י מְאַסְתִּ֔יו מִמְּלֹ֖ךְ עַל יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל מַלֵּ֨א קַרְנְךָ֜ שֶׁ֗מֶן וְלֵ֤ךְ אֶֽשְׁלָחֲךָ֙ אֶל יִשַׁ֣י בֵּֽית הַלַּחְמִ֔י כִּֽי רָאִ֧יתִי בְּבָנָ֛יו לִ֖י מֶֽלֶךְ

and to say · LORD · to · Samuel · until · how long · you · mourning · to · Saul · and I · to reject him · from to reign · upon · Israel · fill · horn your · fat · and walk · to send you · to · Jesse · Bethlehemite · Bethlehemite · that · to see · in/at sons his · to/for me · king

וַיֹּ֤אמֶר שְׁמוּאֵל֙ אֵ֣יךְ אֵלֵ֔ךְ וְשָׁמַ֥ע שָׁא֖וּל וַהֲרָגָ֑נִי וַיֹּ֣אמֶר יְהוָ֗ה עֶגְלַ֤ת בָּקָר֙ תִּקַּ֣ח בְּיָדֶ֔ךָ וְאָ֣מַרְתָּ֔ לִזְבֹּ֥חַ לַֽיהוָ֖ה בָּֽאתִי

and to say · Samuel · how · to walk · and to hear · Saul · and to kill me · and to say · LORD · heifer of · cattle · to take · in/at hand your · and to say · to sacrifice · to/for LORD · to enter

וְקָרָ֥אתָ לְיִשַׁ֖י בַּזָּ֑בַח וְאָֽנֹכִ֗י אוֹדִֽיעֲךָ֙ אֵ֣ת אֲשֶֽׁר תַּעֲשֶׂ֔ה וּמָשַׁחְתָּ֣ לִ֔י אֵ֥ת אֲשֶׁר אֹמַ֖ר אֵלֶֽיךָ

and to call · to/for Jesse · in/at the sacrifice · and I · to know you · - · which · to do · and to anoint · to/for me · - · which · to say · to you

וַיַּ֣עַשׂ שְׁמוּאֵ֗ל אֵ֚ת אֲשֶׁ֣ר דִּבֶּ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה וַיָּבֹ֖א בֵּ֣ית לָ֑חֶם וַיֶּחֶרְד֞וּ זִקְנֵ֤י הָעִיר֙ לִקְרָאת֔וֹ וַיֹּ֖אמֶר שָׁלֹ֥ם בּוֹאֶֽךָ

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר שָׁל֗וֹם לִזְבֹּ֤חַ לַֽיהוָה֙ בָּ֔אתִי הִֽתְקַדְּשׁ֔וּ וּבָאתֶ֥ם אִתִּ֖י בַּזָּ֑בַח וַיְקַדֵּ֤שׁ אֶת יִשַׁי֙ וְאֶת בָּנָ֔יו וַיִּקְרָ֥א לָהֶ֖ם לַזָּֽבַח

and to say · peace · to sacrifice · to/for LORD · to enter · consecrate · and to enter · with me · in/at the sacrifice · and to consecrate · - · Jesse · and - · sons his · and to call · to/for them · to/for the sacrifice

וַיְהִ֣י בְּבוֹאָ֔ם וַיַּ֖רְא אֶת אֱלִיאָ֑ב וַיֹּ֕אמֶר אַ֛ךְ נֶ֥גֶד יְהוָ֖ה מְשִׁיחֽוֹ

and to be · in/at to enter them · and to see · - · Eliab · and to say · surely · before · LORD · anointed one his

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהוָ֜ה אֶל שְׁמוּאֵ֗ל אַל תַּבֵּ֧ט אֶל מַרְאֵ֛הוּ וְאֶל גְּבֹ֥הַּ קוֹמָת֖וֹ כִּ֣י מְאַסְתִּ֑יהוּ כִּ֣י לֹ֗א אֲשֶׁ֤ר יִרְאֶה֙ הָאָדָ֔ם כִּ֤י הָֽאָדָם֙ יִרְאֶ֣ה לַעֵינַ֔יִם וַיהוָ֖ה יִרְאֶ֥ה לַלֵּבָֽב

and to say · LORD · to · Samuel · not · to look · to · sight his · and to · high of · height his · that · to reject him · that · not · which · to see · the man · that · the man · to see · to/for the eyes · and LORD · to see · to/for the heart

וַיִּקְרָ֤א יִשַׁי֙ אֶל אֲבִ֣ינָדָ֔ב וַיַּעֲבִרֵ֖הוּ לִפְנֵ֣י שְׁמוּאֵ֑ל וַיֹּ֕אמֶר גַּם בָּזֶ֖ה לֹֽא בָחַ֥ר יְהוָֽה

and to call · Jesse · to · Abinadab · and to pass over him · to/for face(s) of · Samuel · and to say · also · in/at this · not · to choose · LORD

וַיַּעֲבֵ֥ר יִשַׁ֖י שַׁמָּ֑ה וַיֹּ֕אמֶר גַּם בָּזֶ֖ה לֹא בָחַ֥ר יְהוָֽה

and to pass over · Jesse · Shammah · and to say · also · in/at this · not · to choose · LORD

וַיַּעֲבֵ֥ר יִשַׁ֛י שִׁבְעַ֥ת בָּנָ֖יו לִפְנֵ֣י שְׁמוּאֵ֑ל וַיֹּ֤אמֶר שְׁמוּאֵל֙ אֶל יִשַׁ֔י לֹא בָחַ֥ר יְהוָ֖ה בָּאֵֽלֶּה

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר שְׁמוּאֵ֣ל אֶל יִשַׁי֮ הֲתַ֣מּוּ הַנְּעָרִים֒ וַיֹּ֗אמֶר ע֚וֹד שָׁאַ֣ר הַקָּטָ֔ן וְהִנֵּ֥ה רֹעֶ֖ה בַּצֹּ֑אן וַיֹּ֨אמֶר שְׁמוּאֵ֤ל אֶל יִשַׁי֙ שִׁלְחָ֣ה וְקָחֶ֔נּוּ כִּ֥י לֹא נָסֹ֖ב עַד בֹּא֥וֹ פֹֽה

and to say · Samuel · to · Jesse · to be complete · the boys · and to say · still · to remain · the small · and behold · shepherding · in/at the flock · and to say · Samuel · to · Jesse · send · and take him · that · not · to turn around · until · to enter him · here

וַיִּשְׁלַ֤ח וַיְבִיאֵ֨הוּ֙ וְה֣וּא אַדְמוֹנִ֔י עִם יְפֵ֥ה עֵינַ֖יִם וְט֣וֹב רֹ֑אִי וַיֹּ֧אמֶר יְהוָ֛ה ק֥וּם מְשָׁחֵ֖הוּ כִּֽי זֶ֥ה הֽוּא

and to send · and to enter him · and he · red · with · beautiful of · eyes · and good of · appearance · and to say · LORD · rise · anoint him · that · this · he

וַיִּקַּ֨ח שְׁמוּאֵ֜ל אֶת קֶ֣רֶן הַשֶּׁ֗מֶן וַיִּמְשַׁ֣ח אֹתוֹ֮ בְּקֶ֣רֶב אֶחָיו֒ וַתִּצְלַ֤ח רֽוּחַ יְהוָה֙ אֶל דָּוִ֔ד מֵהַיּ֥וֹם הַה֖וּא וָמָ֑עְלָה וַיָּ֣קָם שְׁמוּאֵ֔ל וַיֵּ֖לֶךְ הָרָמָֽתָה

and to take · Samuel · - · horn of · the fat · and to anoint · - him · in/at midst of · brothers his · and to prosper · spirit of · LORD · to · David · from the day · the he · and above toward · and to rise · Samuel · and to walk · the Ramah toward

וְר֧וּחַ יְהוָ֛ה סָ֖רָה מֵעִ֣ם שָׁא֑וּל וּבִֽעֲתַ֥תּוּ רֽוּחַ רָעָ֖ה מֵאֵ֥ת יְהוָֽה

and spirit of · LORD · to turn aside · from with · Saul · and to terrify him · spirit · evil · from with · LORD

וַיֹּאמְר֥וּ עַבְדֵֽי שָׁא֖וּל אֵלָ֑יו הִנֵּה נָ֧א רֽוּחַ אֱלֹהִ֛ים רָעָ֖ה מְבַעִתֶּֽךָ

and to say · servants of · Saul · to him · behold · please · spirit of · God(s) · evil · terrifying you

יֹאמַר נָ֤א אֲדֹנֵ֨נוּ֙ עֲבָדֶ֣יךָ לְפָנֶ֔יךָ יְבַקְשׁ֕וּ אִ֕ישׁ יֹדֵ֖עַ מְנַגֵּ֣ן בַּכִּנּ֑וֹר וְהָיָ֗ה בִּֽהְי֨וֹת עָלֶ֤יךָ רֽוּחַ אֱלֹהִים֙ רָעָ֔ה וְנִגֵּ֥ן בְּיָד֖וֹ וְט֥וֹב לָֽךְ

to say · please · lord our · servants your · to/for face(s) your · to seek · man · knowing · playing stringed instrument · in/at the lyre · and to be · in/at to be · upon you · spirit of · God(s) · evil · and to play stringed instrument · in/at hand his · and to be good · to/for you

וַיֹּ֥אמֶר שָׁא֖וּל אֶל עֲבָדָ֑יו רְאוּ נָ֣א לִ֗י אִ֚ישׁ מֵיטִ֣יב לְנַגֵּ֔ן וַהֲבִיאוֹתֶ֖ם אֵלָֽי

and to say · Saul · to · servants his · see · please · to/for me · man · being good · to play stringed instrument · and to enter · to me

וַיַּעַן֩ אֶחָ֨ד מֵהַנְּעָרִ֜ים וַיֹּ֗אמֶר הִנֵּ֨ה רָאִ֜יתִי בֵּ֣ן לְיִשַׁי֮ בֵּ֣ית הַלַּחְמִי֒ יֹדֵ֣עַ נַ֠גֵּן וְגִבּ֨וֹר חַ֜יִל וְאִ֧ישׁ מִלְחָמָ֛ה וּנְב֥וֹן דָּבָ֖ר וְאִ֣ישׁ תֹּ֑אַר וַיהוָ֖ה עִמּֽוֹ

and to answer · one · from the boys · and to say · behold · to see · son · to/for Jesse · Bethlehemite · Bethlehemite · knowing · to play stringed instrument · and mighty of · strength · and man of · battle · and understanding · word · and man of · form · and LORD · with him

וַיִּשְׁלַ֥ח שָׁא֛וּל מַלְאָכִ֖ים אֶל יִשָׁ֑י וַיֹּ֕אמֶר שִׁלְחָ֥ה אֵלַ֛י אֶת דָּוִ֥ד בִּנְךָ֖ אֲשֶׁ֥ר בַּצֹּֽאן

and to send · Saul · messengers · to · Jesse · and to say · send · to me · - · David · son your · which · in/at the flock

וַיִּקַּ֨ח יִשַׁ֜י חֲמ֥וֹר לֶ֨חֶם֙ וְנֹ֣אד יַ֔יִן וּגְדִ֥י עִזִּ֖ים אֶחָ֑ד וַיִּשְׁלַ֛ח בְּיַד דָּוִ֥ד בְּנ֖וֹ אֶל שָׁאֽוּל

and to take · Jesse · donkey · bread · and skin bottle of · wine · and kid of · female goats · one · and to send · in/at hand of · David · son his · to · Saul

וַיָּבֹ֤א דָוִד֙ אֶל שָׁא֔וּל וַֽיַּעֲמֹ֖ד לְפָנָ֑יו וַיֶּאֱהָבֵ֣הֽוּ מְאֹ֔ד וַֽיְהִי ל֖וֹ נֹשֵׂ֥א כֵלִֽים

and to enter · David · to · Saul · and to stand · to/for face(s) his · and to love him · exceedingly · and to be · to/for him · lifting · vessels

וַיִּשְׁלַ֣ח שָׁא֔וּל אֶל יִשַׁ֖י לֵאמֹ֑ר יַעֲמָד נָ֤א דָוִד֙ לְפָנַ֔י כִּֽי מָ֥צָא חֵ֖ן בְּעֵינָֽי

and to send · Saul · to · Jesse · to say · to stand · please · David · to/for face(s) my · that · to find · grace · in/at eyes my

וְהָיָ֗ה בִּֽהְי֤וֹת רֽוּחַ אֱלֹהִים֙ אֶל שָׁא֔וּל וְלָקַ֥ח דָּוִ֛ד אֶת הַכִּנּ֖וֹר וְנִגֵּ֣ן בְּיָד֑וֹ וְרָוַ֤ח לְשָׁאוּל֙ וְט֣וֹב ל֔וֹ וְסָ֥רָה מֵעָלָ֖יו ר֥וּחַ הָרָעָֽה

and to be · in/at to be · spirit of · God(s) · to · Saul · and to take · David · - · the lyre · and to play stringed instrument · in/at hand his · and to be wide · to/for Saul · and to be good · to/for him · and to turn aside · from upon him · spirit of · the evil
