Septuagint Greek Vocabulary

The Septuagint (LXX) — the ancient Greek translation of the Hebrew Old Testament — uses thousands of words that never appear in the Greek New Testament, so they carry no Strong’s number and are missing from most English study tools. This is a browsable index of that vocabulary: each word links to a study page with its transliteration, a curated modern-English gloss, and a sample of every book it occurs in.

Sorted by frequency, so the most common words come first. Glosses are curated modern-English senses, not Strong’s definitions. Proper names and unidentified forms keep their own word pages but are not listed here, so this stays a true vocabulary list.
